Seminar Content

In this training, your executives develop a sound understanding of stress and resilience – not on the basis of theory alone, but with direct relevance to their own leadership reality. Schedule a free initial consultation and find out how this training can strengthen your team.

You will gain in-depth insight into:

  • the most relevant findings and models from resilience research,
  • the analysis of individual stress patterns and pressure triggers,
  • handling high-stakes situations and complex professional challenges effectively.

You will learn to recognise and contextualise stress reactions objectively.

Finally, you will explore how personality and individual personality profiles influence behaviour under pressure. You will be introduced to proven strategies for strengthening your own resilience and building a sustainable resilience culture for yourself and your team.

Your Benefits

More composure under pressure

Executives who understand their stress patterns and master resilience strategies stay capable of action in critical moments. They gain calm and confidence in everyday work and create a healthier balance between professional demands and personal wellbeing. As a complement, we offer individual potential analyses that help you deploy your strengths even more deliberately.

Stronger team resilience

When executives understand how stress works and how to engage with pressure constructively, the entire team benefits. Open communication about challenges becomes more natural, and collaboration improves – particularly in demanding phases.

Sustainable personal development

Each participant leaves the training with a personal resilience profile and concrete strategies for everyday use. The skills acquired extend well beyond the seminar and support long-term personal and professional development.

Methodology & Format

The resilience training is consistently practice-oriented and tailored to the daily reality of senior leaders. We combine insights from neuroscience, systemic coaching and Leadership Embodiment in a practical programme for self-leadership and managing pressure.

Format: 1- or 2-day intensive seminar (or two half-day modules on request) or a compact half-day resilience workshop for leadership teams – delivered in English or German, in Vienna or as an in-house format at your offices.

Group size: 6–12 participants, to enable a trusting learning atmosphere and individual reflection.

Methods:

  • Structured self-reflection and resilience self-diagnostics
  • Live exercises in physical stress regulation (Embodiment)
  • Case work on real leadership situations of the participants
  • Peer coaching and collegial consulting
  • A concrete 30/60/90-day action plan to embed the learning in daily work

On request we extend the training with an individual Potential Analysis (MPA) or in-depth Executive Coaching for selected leaders.

What you work on in resilience training

The aim is a more deliberate response to pressure and practical application in your leadership role. You work on:

  • recognising personal stress patterns and early signs of overload,
  • self-regulation during demanding conversations,
  • clear priorities and boundaries when expectations conflict,
  • open conversations about workload within your team,
  • a personal action plan for the next 30, 60 and 90 days.

Outcomes depend on your starting point, follow-through and working conditions. A seminar alone cannot resolve structural overload. Absenteeism and employee retention have many causes and cannot, by themselves, demonstrate the impact of training.

Resilience workshop or in-house seminar: which fits your team?

A half-day workshop provides a shared starting point, for example at a leadership offsite. A one- or two-day seminar allows more time for exercises, case work and transfer planning. One-to-one coaching suits confidential personal concerns.

We design this training as a tailored in-house programme for your organisation – aligned with your industry, your leadership structure and the specific pressures your teams face. Delivery takes place at your premises or, on request, in Vienna. For enquiries please contact us at office@leadership-institute.at or +43 664 954 53 09.

One-to-One Resilience Coaching for Executives

Not every topic belongs in a seminar. Senior leaders who operate under sustained pressure, whether as managing directors, board members or heads of division, often need a confidential setting to discuss their own situation openly. That is what one-to-one resilience coaching is for.

Typical occasions:

  • persistent overload and the sense of only reacting rather than shaping
  • a new leadership role, a restructuring or a crisis with high stakes
  • tensions in the top team that absorb a great deal of energy
  • the wish to act early, before pressure turns into exhaustion

In coaching, we work on your specific situations: where does the pressure come from, which patterns reinforce it, and what helps you stay clear and able to act during demanding phases? The work draws on resilience research and a solution-focused coaching approach rather than ready-made formulas.

Resilience coaching is part of our executive coaching and leadership coaching in Vienna. It combines well with a resilience training for your leadership team.

Frequently Asked Questions about Resilience Training

What is resilience – and why is it especially important for executives?
Resilience is the capacity to respond to demands and change, adapt and regain the ability to act after difficult periods. For executives, this concerns both self-leadership and collaboration. Personal resources and supportive working conditions belong together; resilience does not mean being able to withstand unlimited pressure.
How does your resilience training differ from a classic stress management seminar?
Stress management and resilience training overlap. Stress management often focuses on current demands and practical coping strategies. Resilience training also considers adaptation to change and setbacks, alongside personal and social resources. Our training combines self-reflection, stress-regulation exercises and case work from daily leadership practice.
How long does the resilience training take – and what is the format?
The standard format is a 1- or 2-day intensive seminar – at your premises or in Vienna. On request we split it into two half-day modules or deliver it as a compact resilience workshop. In-house formats are tailored to your organisation and leadership structure. Group size is 6 to 12 participants.
Which leadership levels does the training address?
The programme is designed for C-level executives, managing directors, heads of department and team leaders carrying significant responsibility. It is equally suitable for high-potential programmes and for leadership teams that want to strengthen their collective resilience.
Can we book the resilience training as an in-house seminar?
Yes – this is our core format: we design the resilience training as a tailored in-house programme for your organisation, delivered at your premises or in Vienna – across Austria, Germany and Switzerland. In-house formats are designed around your industry, your leadership structure and the specific pressures your teams are facing.
In which language does the seminar take place?
We deliver the resilience training in English and German. English-language formats are particularly suited to international leadership teams and expatriates based in Vienna.
Who is the trainer?
The trainer is Mag. Gabriele Liebl, MAS – an expert in resilience training, business coaching and personal development with degrees in business administration (WU Vienna) and communication & PR (University of Vienna), as well as a Leadership Embodiment qualification. The programme is led by Leadership Institute Vienna under Dr. Judith Girschik (ICF PCC, Vice President of ICF Austria).
How do you measure the impact of the resilience training?
We start with specific learning and transfer goals. Self-assessments before and after training, a personal action plan and a follow-up after 60 to 90 days help participants reflect on changes in practice. HR indicators may provide additional context, but changes in absenteeism or turnover alone do not establish that training caused them.
Do you also offer a compact resilience workshop for executives?
Yes. Alongside the 1- to 2-day resilience training we offer a compact half-day resilience workshop for executives and leadership teams – ideal as a kick-off, for leadership offsites or as an impulse within leadership programmes. The workshop covers the essentials of stress regulation and immediately applicable techniques for day-to-day leadership. Delivered at your premises or in Vienna, in English or German.
What does a resilience training for executives cost?
The investment depends on the format (from a half-day resilience workshop to a 2-day intensive seminar), the number of participants and the degree of customisation. After a free initial consultation you receive a transparent proposal for your organisation – aligned with your goals and budget.
What is the difference between resilience training and resilience coaching?
Resilience training is a seminar for groups or leadership teams. It provides models and tools and builds a shared culture of resilience. Resilience coaching takes place one to one and focuses on your personal situation. The two can be combined, for example an in-house training for the leadership team and accompanying individual coaching for selected executives.
Who is resilience coaching for?
For executives with significant responsibility, such as managing directors, board members or heads of division, who are under sustained pressure, going through a change of role or want to act preventively. The prerequisite is a willingness to work actively on one’s own topics.
Does resilience coaching replace psychotherapy?
No. Coaching is aimed at people who want to strengthen their ability to act in a professional context. Where there are signs of burnout or other health complaints, a medical or psychotherapeutic assessment is the right first step. Coaching can be a useful complement afterwards.
