Executive Assessment & Management Audit in Vienna

A sound basis for decisions on appointments, promotions and succession at the top of your organisation.

Confidence in leadership decisions

Appointing a senior executive is one of the most consequential decisions a company makes. Research puts the cost of a mis-hire at management level at two to three and a half times the annual salary – before counting lost productivity and unrest in the team. A professional executive assessment reduces that risk for a fraction of the amount.

Leadership Institute Vienna supports owners, supervisory boards, managing directors and HR leaders with rigorous management diagnostics: an executive assessment of individual candidates, or a management audit of entire leadership teams – in English or German, discreet and at eye level with top management.

Each assessment combines a scientifically validated personality analysis (Master Person Analysis, MPA), a structured competency-based interview and a clear written report with a recommendation.

When an executive assessment pays off

Appointing a managing director or board member

Whether you are considering an external candidate or an internal appointment: CVs and interviews show experience, but not attitude, leadership behaviour or fit. An executive assessment provides an objective second perspective before you sign – complementing executive search and hearings.

Promotion decisions

Your best expert is not automatically your best leader. Before promoting someone into a managing or divisional role, an assessment shows whether the foundations hold – and which development areas deserve targeted support.

Second-line talent and succession planning

Who can take over in three years? A structured potential analysis of your second leadership tier makes succession plannable, objectifies talent decisions and shows where development investment pays off.

Suitability for supervisory board and governance roles

For owners and nomination committees: an independent evaluation of competencies and role understanding before appointing someone to a supervisory board, advisory board or foundation board.

What you receive, and how it works

Every executive assessment follows a clear, proven process:

  1. Role profile: Together with you, we define what the position truly requires – strategically, professionally and in terms of leadership. The result is a target profile against which the candidate is evaluated.
  2. Psychometric analysis (MPA): The Master Person Analysis captures working style, social behaviour and inner drivers – scientifically validated, online, in 20 to 40 minutes.
  3. Structured interview: A competency-based in-depth interview (2–3 hours) conducted by Dr. Judith Girschik – at eye level, informed by 15 years of her own leadership experience in international companies.
  4. Report and feedback: You receive a written report with a clear recommendation and a strengths/risk profile. Client and candidate each receive a structured feedback session.

Investment: from € 2,500 per candidate, depending on scope and seniority of the position. For management audits covering several executives we prepare a package offer. Results are usually available within two weeks of engagement.

Frequently asked questions

What is an executive assessment?

An executive assessment is a structured management diagnostic used for appointment, promotion and succession decisions at senior level. At Leadership Institute Vienna it combines a scientifically validated psychometric analysis (Master Person Analysis), a competency-based in-depth interview and a comparison against the role profile. The result is a written report with a clear recommendation.

How much does an executive assessment cost in Vienna?

At Leadership Institute Vienna, a complete executive assessment starts at €2,500 per candidate – including the MPA analysis, a structured interview, a written report and feedback sessions. Package offers are available for management audits of several executives. For comparison: studies put the cost of a management mis-hire at two to three and a half times an annual salary.

How does a management audit work?

First, a role profile is defined together with the client. Each executive then completes the MPA analysis online (20–40 minutes) and a structured interview (2–3 hours). You receive a written report with a recommendation for each person, plus a feedback session. Results are usually available within two weeks – in English or German.

How is an executive assessment different from an assessment center?

An assessment center works with group exercises and simulations and is mainly suited to junior and middle management. An executive assessment is a discreet one-on-one setting at eye level – appropriate for managing directors, board members and experienced leaders who expect a professional, evidence-based process rather than role plays.

Which methods are used?

The core instrument is the Master Person Analysis (MPA), an internationally used, scientifically validated psychometric tool that captures working style, social behaviour and inner drivers. It is complemented by a structured, competency-based interview conducted by Dr. Judith Girschik and a systematic comparison against the role profile.

How confidential are the results?

Strictly confidential. Results are shared exclusively with the client; the candidate receives a personal feedback session. All data is processed in compliance with the GDPR and is never passed on to third parties.
